Ford has brought many of the Everest Platinum’s luxury features to the Ranger ute, available in dual-cab diesel V6 form only from $76,990 plus on-road costs.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The 2023 Ford Ranger line-up<\/strong> has expanded with a new luxury-oriented Platinum model grade, due in showrooms in May priced from $76,990 plus on-road costs.<\/p>\n <\/span><\/div>\n Available as a dual-cab pick-up only \u2013 with the 3.0-litre turbo-diesel V6 as standard \u2013 the Ranger<\/a> Platinum slots between the Wildtrak and Raptor, and adds an array of previously-optional or unavailable luxury features.<\/p>\n <\/span><\/div>\n It will be priced from $76,990 plus on-road costs, when it arrives in Ford<\/a> showrooms in May 2023 (as a Model Year 2023.5 vehicle) \u2013 $5800 more than a Ranger Wildtrak V6, or $3950 with that car’s Premium Pack optioned.<\/p>\n <\/span><\/div>\n The Ranger Raptor remains the most expensive model grade, priced from $86,790 plus on-road costs (for Model Year 2023.5 production) \u2013 $9800 more than the Platinum.<\/p>\n <\/span><\/div>\n Many of the Ranger Platinum’s extras are shared with the related Everest Platinum SUV, including chrome exterior trim with a new grille and ‘PLATINUM’ bonnet badging, a gas strut for the tailgate, and a black roof (though a body-coloured finish is a no-cost option).<\/p>\n <\/span><\/div>\n A set of 20-inch wheels with all-season tyres are fitted \u2013 different to those recently made optional on the Wildtrak \u2013 plus full LED tail-lights, and the recently-revealed flexible rack system for the tray (more details here<\/a>).<\/p>\n <\/span><\/div>\n Inside, there’s quilted leather seat upholstery (with Platinum branding), front-seat ventilation (in addition to heating, carried over from the Wildtrak), 10-way power front seats with driver memory, a heated steering wheel, Platinum badges, and new floor mats.<\/p>\n <\/span><\/div>\n The 12.4-inch digital instrument cluster previously exclusive to the Raptor is fitted to the Platinum, while the contents of the Wildtrak’s optional Premium Pack \u2013 matrix LED headlights, a 10-speaker B&O premium stereo, and an auxiliary switch bank \u2013 are standard on the new luxury grade.<\/p>\n <\/span><\/div>\n As reported previously by Drive<\/em><\/a>, Ford dealers were advised before launch to forecast 15 per cent of Wildtrak customers ticking the Premium Pack box \u2013 but the true mix has ended up closer to 70 or 80 per cent.<\/p>\n <\/span><\/div>\n Also new for the Ranger Platinum is an Equinox Bronze exterior colour \u2013 a $700 extra \u2013 which was previously exclusive to the Everest.<\/p>\n <\/span><\/div>\n Power comes exclusively from a 3.0-litre single-turbo diesel V6 engine with 184kW and 600Nm, driving all four wheels through a 10-speed automatic transmission and permanent four-wheel drive.<\/p>\n <\/span><\/div>\n The Platinum is the only variant that offers this engine as standard; in the XLT, Sport and Wildtrak it’s a $3200 option over the standard 2.0-litre bi-turbo four-cylinder engine.<\/p>\n <\/span><\/div>\n Production of the 2023 Ford Ranger Platinum<\/strong> is due to commence in April 2023 \u2013 as a Model Year 2023.5 vehicle \u2013 ahead of first local showroom arrivals in May.<\/p>\n <\/span><\/div>\n Interested customers can use the Build and Price tool on Ford’s website to place an online reservation for a Ranger Platinum, which Ford says “will be managed by their local dealer”.<\/p>\n <\/span><\/div>\n Note: List curated to include only dual-cab pick-up variants in high model grades with four-wheel drive, for brevity.
