Hyundai has pushed the three-row Palisade SUV further upmarket with a single top-spec version and a new hybrid powertrain.

Hyundai has confirmed that its Palisade large SUV will start from $89,990 before on-road costs, following an earlier pricing leak.
The new 2026 Palisade comes with a four-cylinder hybrid powertrain for the first time, replacing the previous petrol V6 and four-cylinder diesel engine options.
The new 2.5 T-GDi Hybrid engine combines a 2.5-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine and dual-motor electric assistance for a combined 245kW and 460Nm, making it Hyundai’s most powerful hybrid yet.
The system is configured with one motor providing power to the wheels, with the other dedicated to energy regeneration.

Drive is sent to on-demand all-wheel drive, via a six-speed automatic transmission.
Official fuel consumption is rated at 6.8 litres per 100km, compared to 7.3L/100km for the previous diesel and 10.7L/100km for the previous petrol V6.
The hybrid battery can also be used to power the infotainment and climate control in Stay Mode, with the engine powered off to keep occupants comfortable, and vehicle-to-load (V2L) power is available to power household electronics from a power outlet in the interior.

Unlike the outgoing model, which was offered in Elite, Calligraphy, and Calligraphy Black Ink trims, the new Palisade will be available in a single highly-appointed Calligraphy grade only.
Pricing for the previous-generation Palisade started at $66,800 for the Elite V6 front-wheel drive and spanned to $81,719 for the Calligraphy Black Ink diesel all-wheel drive.
Standard equipment includes 12.3-inch screens for both the infotainment and instrument displays, plus a 12-inch head-up display for the driver.
Over-the-air updates, Bluetooth multi-connection (allowing two phones to be paired at the same time), seven years of Bluelink connected car services, natural voice recognition, and Sounds Of Nature relaxation mode are included in the infotainment system.

Satellite navigation and 14-speaker Bose audio are standard (up from a 12-speaker Infinity system previously), and smartphone mirroring for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is available via both wireless and wired connection.
Seats are electrically adjustable in the first row, featuring a ‘zero-gravity’ relaxation mode and an Ergo Motion driver’s seat that utilises air pockets to dynamically adjust, based on driving conditions.
The second-row seats are available as either a three-person bench or a pair of individual captain’s chairs.
One-touch access to the third row is provided, with a tilt-forward function that retains a vertical backrest, enabling use when child seats are fitted.

Seat heating is standard across all three rows (on outboard second and third row seats). Front and second row (outboard) seats are ventilated.
With the individual seats of the seven-seat model, the second row is electrically-adjustable and includes a reclining relaxation mode that can be used while stationary or travelling.
Opting for the seven-seat model is a $1000 option. Hyundai also offers dark navy and light grey two-tone, dark charcoal with brown stitching, or brown single tone interiors for $295, black single tone is standard.
Third-row seats are also electrically adjustable with slide, recline, and stowage functions, all power-assisted. Satellite switches in the cargo compartment are also provided.

Cargo space grows from 311 litres with all rows in place to 348 litres in the new Palisade, and space to the second row increases from 704 litres in the previous model to 729 litres.
Standard interior equipment includes nappa leather seat trim, suede-look headliner, 16-way driver and 12-way passenger electric front seats, heated steering wheel, fingerprint recognition, 6x 100-watt USB-C ports plus 1x data and charging port, three-zone climate control, wireless charging, keyless entry with push-button start, and a UV-C sterilisation tray.
The exterior features 21-inch machined face alloy wheels, LED headlights, LED tail-lights, a front bumper active air flap, and satin metallic finishes on the bumpers, sills, roof rails and window trims.

The Palisade hybrid is rated to tow up to 2000kg with a braked trailer, or 750kg unbraked, down slightly from the 2200kg maximum capacity of the previous-generation model.
Safety and driver-assist technology falls under the Hyundai SmartSense banner with features like navigation-based smart cruise control, upgraded lane-follow assist and highway driving assist, and camera-based driver monitoring.
Forward collision-avoidance assist can warn if the risk of colliding with a vehicle, pedestrian, or cyclist is detected and includes intersection turning and crossing alerts, lane change assist, and evasive steering assist to avoid a potential impact.
Blind spot monitoring and blind spot cameras, intelligent speed limit assist with traffic sign recognition, safe exit assist, front, side, and rear park distance warning and remote smart park assist are also included.
