The owner was given a hefty fine by NSW Police for speeding, not displaying his P-plates and other offences.
A young driver has been fined almost $3000 for speeding more than 45 km/h over the limit – in a Holden Barina that’s more than two decades old.
On Sunday 18 August, the P-plater was caught by Coffs Harbour Highway Patrol officers in the silver Barina driving at 155 km/h on the Gwydir Highway, Eatonsville – which is a 100 km/h zone.
The 20-year-old from Glenreagh was handed a $2959 infringement notice for exceeding the speed limit, and had his licence suspended for six months.
As the owner of the car, the registration of the Holden was also suspended, with the number plates seized and returned to Transport for New South Wales.
The fun didn’t end there either, with the driver additionally hit with a number of other infringement notices – including for failing to display his P plates.
