The successor to one of the most popular all-terrain tyres, the BFG KO2, has launched in Australia – with 60 sizes to be made available in the KO3 over the next two years.
After almost a decade on sale, BFGoodrich has launched its replacement for the KO2 all-terrain tyre.
Officially named the All-Terrain T/A KO3, the tyre has been designed to work across all environments – suited for those who use their four-wheel-drive for the daily commute and go exploring on weekends, as well as those who may spend hours on the highway before hitting off-road tracks.
Available from Monday, 2 September 2024, BFGoodrich will begin rolling out with 38 sizes on sale this year, with 60 sizes to be made available over the next 24 months – accommodating 80 per cent of demand for all-terrain tyres locally.
The trend among four-wheel-drive enthusiasts in recent years has been to swap mud-terrain tyres for the latest all-terrain alternatives, as technology has improved greatly to reduce the compromise between on-road traction and off-road performance.

According to BFGoodrich, stopping distances are reduced by 4.2 metres with the KO3, when compared with the KO2.
BFG claim the prominent “mud-phobic bars” on the shoulder of the tyres help improve grip in both mud and snow, while providing an aggressive off-road look.
The company also says the KO3s last longer and have stronger sidewalls, helping to protect against punctures when driving in the bush.
