The Japanese ute and SUV brand now offers finance and insurance options that will cover drivers if they venture off-road in D-Max and MU-X models.

Isuzu Ute Australia (IUA) is cutting out third-party financing and insurance companies by offering those services in-house to “to make vehicle ownership simpler, more affordable, and more flexible for Australian customers”.

Introduced in early July, the two new services are tailored to the two models offered by IUA – the D-Max ute and the MU-X off-road SUV.

What’s covered?

The finance program is available to both private and business buyers, with zero upfront cost, a fixed payment schedule, and loan terms up to seven years.

The vehicle finance options are managed by Allied Retail Finance, a company that partners with many car brands including Peugeot, Polestar, Subaru, Hyundai, and others.

However, while accessories can be added as part of the vehicle purchase – even to approved used or demo cars – Isuzu Ute add-ons cannot be included after the finance contract has been finalised.

Isuzu Ute Insurance is underwritten by Allianz, with all repairs using genuine Isuzu parts, while owners also have choice of repairer and monthly payment options.

With both the D-Max and MU-X offering off-road capabilities, Isuzu Ute Insurance will also cover owners travelling the less beaten path – within reason.

“Customers are covered as long as the vehicle is being driven legally, to the manufacturers specifications and within the terms of the policy,” an Isuzu Ute Australia spokesperson told Drive.

Therefore, a successful insurance claim will be situational, depending on various factors.

“In the example sighted [bogged on the beach with the tide coming in], we do not cover recovery if the vehicle is bogged, but we may cover resultant damage caused by the tide, assuming the above stated conditions,” the spokesperson said.

This is the first time Isuzu Ute Australia has offered finance and insurance options.
