A $2000 cashback offer takes MG’s ZST Vibe down to $21,990 drive-away, making it one of the cheapest new cars in Australia.

A new cashback offer on the MG ZST makes it the most affordable SUV in Australia, and nearly the cheapest car outright, by taking $2000 off to be $21,990 drive-away.

However, the title of most affordable car still belongs to the Kia Picanto in base Sport trim with a manual gearbox, which is priced at $21,640 nationwide – undercutting the MG ZST offer by $350.

The MG ZST also comes with a 10-year/250,000km warranty, when serviced with the brand, otherwise the assurance period falls back to seven years/unlimited kilometres – matching the Kia.

Still, the $21,990 ZST makes it significantly cheaper than rivals like the Chery Tiggo 4 Pro ($23,990) and Mahindra 3XO ($23,990), not to mention light SUVs offerings by mainstream brands like the Mazda CX-3 (from $30,370 before on-road costs), Kia Stonic (from $25,660), and Hyundai Venue (from $24,750).

This is the most affordable the ZST has been, with a sale earlier this year bringing it down to $22,888 drive-away, while its recommended retail price positions it at $26,490 before on-road costs.

Only available to the sole-remaining Vibe grade and vehicles imported in 2024 as model-year 2025 (MY25) vehicles, the ZST features 17-inch wheels, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, a surround-view monitor, and keyless entry.

The only option available with the ZST is the choice of exterior colour, with black or white as standard, and blue, grey, orange and red attracting a $700 premium.

Powering the ZST is a 1.5-litre petrol four-cylinder engine, punching out 84kW/150Nm.

Drive is sent exclusively to the front wheels via a continuously variable transmission (CVT), returning a claimed fuel consumption figure of 6.9 litres per 100km.

MG’s cashback offer runs until the end of August, or while stocks last.
