As Wicked: For Good arrives in Oz (as in Australia), we take a look at the car brands jumping on the Elphaba and Glinda bandwagon.

Brands just can’t get enough of Wicked. It begun last year with the first instalment of the hit Broadway musical’s movie adaptation and has ramped up again ahead of the sequel – with toy, make-up, homewares, clothing and food brands all jumping on the train to the Emerald City.

Premium brands including Swarovski, Le Cruset and Puma have all decided pink goes good with green, while kid-centric names including Lego, Crocs, Care Bears and Polly Pocket have popped the very, very Popular characters on multiple products.

And even though Elphaba and Glinda technically don’t need cars (one has a flying broomstick, the other a magical floating bubble) car brands are not immune to their powers.

When the first movie came out last year, Lexus announced two themed versions of its Lexus TX .

“The Glinda TX is a dazzling electric pink wonder, adorned with shimmering gold accents and wheels,” a statement from the marque reads.

“In contrast, the Elphaba TX features a deep emerald-green exterior accented by bold gold details and underglow green lighting, creating an aura of mystery and strength.”

This year, Lexus has again collaborated with Universal Pictures to advertise the TX in a TV spot featuring Wicked and Wicked: For Good director Jon M. Chu and his wife, Kristin.

The couple drive along a city street which magically morphs into the Yellow Brick Road, and we see their baby daughter Stevie Sky in the back seat. A sentimental voice over from Chu plays over the song For Good. Cue the tears.

It’s not just Lexus either. Chery announced a pair of Wicked themed cars ahead of the first movie release last year.

The verde-hued E5 was inspired by Elphaba, while a blush-tinged C5 evoked Glinda. Sadly, the pink and green are not available in Australia … not sure if we’d find them in Oz.
